Regulation of Cancer Properties by Substrates of SRC

It has been revealed that proteins such as Cas, CDCP1 ephrin-B family are phosphorylated by Src family tyrosine kinases in association with tumor metastasis and invasion. The biological roles of these substrate molecules in cancer are being analyzed using various tools such as mutant proteins, phospho-specific antibodies and siRNAs. Specific peptides blocking their phosphotyrosine-dependent interaction are used to clarify the role of the signals mediated by these molecules in regulating the characteristics of tumor cells both in vitro and in vivo.
